Curations

The A.O. Movement Collective’s barrish was opened to the public for curation in May of 2011, and was booked solid by December of 2011.  Current curations range from family members to previous strangers, homes to performance spaces, and span New York, DC, and PA.  Over the next year, the AOMC will continue to create and present these 9 distinctive versions of barrish, culminating in the final premiere of barrish in NYC, this summer 2012.

barrish is not accepting further curations until after its final premiere in the summer of 2012.  That being said, if you’d like more information on presenting the work after that point, are interested in curating a showing of the AOMC’s next work in process, or just want to beg us to pleeeeeeease add one more curation, please express your interest and we’ll see what we can do!

And don’t forget to mark your calendar for our upcoming showings – we’d love to have you with us!

Upcoming Curations:

Friday May 25th, 2012
barrish, curation #8: Irfana Jetha
Residence of Irfana Jetha, Washington, DC
This curation is private and not open to the public

Irfana Jetha will welcome barrish, curation #9 into her home for a private cocktail party comprised of friends and family.  The gathering will stage barrish as a gallery-style performance, where guests will be invited to stroll and witness selected sections of barrish situated in her two-story apartment.

Saturday, May 26th, 2012
barrish, curation #9: Laurie Duker & Jeremy Rosner
Residence of Laurie and Jeremy, Silver Spring MD
TICKETS ON SALE MAY 1st!

Laurie and Jeremy have been long-time supporters of the AOMC’s work, in no small part because they’re Sarah A.O.’s parents. However, over the last few years they’ve gone from supportive parents to performance aficionados in their own right, so we’re thrilled to get to partner with them for a showing of barrish at their home in DC this May!  We have such an amazing metro-area support base that it only seems right to do a major show there to say thank you.  We’ll be inundating their gorgeous home, and filling it to the brim with movement.  Stay tuned for more details!
